What are the real benefits from having a nature inspired space?

Benefits from contact with nature to human beings is nothing new. Scientific research throughout the years has proven the numerous benefits of being immersed in natural environments for health and wellbeing- including urban natural environments (Read further here). A nature inspired space can help us:

• Reduce stress
• Increase our ability to focus and hence our overall productivity
• Boost our energy levels
• Improve our moods
• Contribute to better sleep
• Boost immune system
• Accelerate recovery from surgery or illnesses
• Lower blood pressure
• ...among other benefits.

On the contrary, our removal from natural environments shows unfortunate ties to mental illnesses and different mood disorders. In research, these tend to be more common in urban areas, and though many factors share the blame, reduced access to nature is a contributing cause (Read further here).

In addition to this, our removal from natural surroundings has further increased our disconnection from environmental issues, undoubtedly one of the most important problems in today's world. This is why having a nature inspired home / workplace can contribute -in a very natural and almost seamless way- to rebuild and restore bonds with natural environments on a daily basis, thus being beneficial for encouraging environmental care and actions.

Why is it important to have nature inspired spaces in today's world?

We are drawn into the elements a modern city has to offer; the increased connectivity, the creativity, innovation, sights, new ideas, delicious food, and so on. However, this immersion in city life has resulted in oblivion and disconnection to nature, which has further transcended in our ways of living and behaving everyday- somewhat unaware of the impact of our daily activities on our natural environments. 

Our environment today is in a very vulnerable state. Despite the great amounts of information available about this-including solutions that we could all start applying instantly, there is yet a long way to go on encouraging reactions that correspond to the current environmental problems we face. 

While there are many factors that affect our behaviours towards environment interest, the fact of not having a closer link with something- in this case nature and forests, makes us most likely to not care or not have enough interest about it. This is the reason Forest Homes has engaged in the mission of bringing back that connection to nature in people's everyday life. By providing nature inspired home decor, we expect to see more people connecting, interacting and experiencing nature elements everyday- even when not being able to take a walk on a forest or a natural park. In this way we hope to increase environment appreciation and consciousness about the impact of our actions- with all the benefits this implies both for the wellbeing of our customers as individuals, and for the protection of our environment as a collective. 

What is special or different about your decor products? 

Our main objective is to provide our customers nature inspired spaces, so they can experience better living and all the benefits that come from being connected to nature every day.  For us, it is essential that our products enable this daily connection to nature and forests in simple ways that don't require dramatic changes of behaviour so that we can help promote more care for today's environment as described in the previous section.

We cater principles of emotion-centered design, restorative spaces and urban sustainability to offer decor products that are not only inspired in forests but are positively stimulating for human senses, beautiful, functional and easy the use. We also sustain resource consciousness as a value for our products, preferring sustainable materials and eco-friendly manufacturing.

Why is some of your natural decoration made of sustainable materials and others not?

To provide a full sensory experience, we offer a wide range of decor products mostly built in eco-friendly processes and with sustainable materials. We thoroughly study our product composition and manufacturing. Bamboo, pine wood, oak wood, cork, are some of the main components of our range of products. To be able to offer a complete sensorial experience we also offer a small range of products that include plastics that are entirely recyclable, strong, stable and considered non-harmful for human health under normal conditions. However we continue to work closely with artisans to develop more forest inspired home decor products that are made entirely of sustainable materials and manufactured in eco friendly processes, so that one day we can proudly say we only offer sustainable materials in our catalog.

Where are your decor products developed?

We support different designers specialised in natural decor from all over the world. We currently work with designers in Asia, South America and Europe that offer beautiful and unique items that sustain home wellbeing. What's more, we continuously look to support more designers that consistently improve the quality and sustainability of the wellbeing spaces we offer to our customers.

Where do you ship?

We ship our products to the countries listed bellow.

How can I track my order?

After purchase, you will receive an e-mail notification with all the details of your order and your tracking number ID, which you will be able to use at any time to check your package's location. For more info refer to our shipping policy

How can I make a return?

Simply notify us via e-mail to support@foresthomesstore.com your order details (Your name, order number and date) and we will provide indications for return shipping. How much time do I have to make a return?

We have a 30-day return policy starting from the day you receive the package in your hands.  After this, full refunds are not guaranteed. For more info, please read our return policy.

Shipping and Returns

Where we ship

We're very proud to have shipped our products into more than 120 countries! If you are interested in shipping to another country out the list bellow, please proceed with purchase and insert the actual location, we will take care of including your location. There might be price differences depending on the articles. In this case, you will be notified after checkout. via e-mail. 

Delivery speed

Usually most our products take 7-20 business days to reach your front door! This may vary depending on the shipping location and time of order. Each Forest Homes product has an estimated delivery time on the product description.

Multiple products in a single order could arrive in separate shipments due to the manufacturer's location. Please do not worry if this happens as it is part of our process.

Track your package

You will be provided with a tracking ID via e-mail once you have completed your purchase so you can follow up on your order anytime you like. However, depending on  product value and shipping route, tracking info will be provided after a few days or could be non-existent. In any case, you will be notify via e-mail about your order status and tracking method.

Duty & Tax information

Duties and taxes are not included in your Forest Homes shipping costs. It’s customer’s responsibility to clear customs and pay the relevant custom duties upon delivery. We don't add taxes, VAT, or other hidden charges. In most of the countries, however, you have to pay taxes or duties on imported goods. Sometimes goods under a certain value, or in certain categories, do not incur taxes.

If a package with a total declared value is LESS than the "de minimis value" amount, then duties and taxes will not apply. However, please be aware that certain items may be subject to other types of fees or taxes according to International law.
