Ruffo Hanging Lights

Our indoor lighting should support the natural circadian rhythm of our bodies. This is accomplished by regulating our light exposure so that we are exposed to the appropriate spectrum of light at the appropriate time.

These ceramic lights are made in a slow and complex craftwork process, unlike the ones we're used to, keeping alive a traditionally Portuguese craft allied with a contemporary design. They are inspired by the simple things in life, with mostly minimal and timeless shapes - in neutral and earthy colors - that adapt to any space or interior design, and have a long life in the space they occupy.

Climate issue addressed This handmade ceramic hanging light addresses climate change in its production by preventing pollution by being in control of the whole create-and-produce process, which allows to follow principles of ethical and responsible production.

Sustainable materials It is built using slowly processed mineral bodies in ceramic clay, which are abundant and sourced locally from Portugal. The linen and fabrics that build the cord are also locally sourced.

Ethical production This product ethical production supports fair and safe work all created and produced in Portugal, and positive communities by supporting and improving the traditional Portuguese art of ceramics.
