These cork tiles are manufactured through a highly sustainable and clean lifecycle that begins with the manual harvesting of bark from the Quercus suber (cork oak) tree. This process is entirely regenerative, as the bark is removed every nine years without causing harm to the tree, allowing it to continue absorbing carbon dioxide as it regrows. The production often utilizes cork that is unsuitable for traditional wine stoppers, such as the thinner bark from a tree's upper branches, ensuring that no natural material goes to waste.

Once harvested, the raw cork is sun-dried and ground into granules before being shaped into modular panels. The creation of these tiles relies on an innovative industrial process where the granules are steam-heated, causing them to expand and activate "suberin"—a natural resin inherent in the cork. This suberin acts as a natural binding agent, allowing the granules to fuse together into solid blocks without the use of artificial glues, chemicals, or additives. This clean manufacturing method ensures the final tiles are 100% natural, biodegradable, and carbon-negative.

Since these are all natural plants and mosses, they also have their own natural smell, which fades over time. Our scent sprays also help get rid of smells more quickly.

In direct sunlight, plant colors can fade after 2 to 3 years. This is why, it should be avoided as much as possible if you wish to keep your plants much longer. Furthermore, do not hang the products near or above heat sources, as it's also harmful for the preservation process.
